Guiyang's Guanshanhu district took center stage on June 14 as the 2026 Colorful Guizhou Marathon Super League (Third Leg) and Mengniu Guiyang Marathon drew 25,000 runners from China and abroad to Guiyang's premier urban district.
With both the start and finish lines located in Guanshanhu, most of the race course wound through the district's parks, ecological corridors, landmark buildings, and vibrant urban neighborhoods. Runners enjoyed Guiyang's renowned summer climate and scenic routes while experiencing the city's unique blend of nature, culture, and modern development.
Along the route, runners passed through major roads in Guanshanhu, including Guanshan East Road, Guanshan West Road, and Yuntan South Road, while taking on the challenging "Hero's 18 Slopes" section.

Beyond the competition, Guanshanhu's hospitality was on full display. Volunteers, medical teams, and residents lined the course to support participants, while cultural performances, ethnic-themed activities, and cheering stations created a festive atmosphere. Traditional Miao and Dong cultural elements, energetic drum performances, and community celebrations transformed the race into a showcase of local culture and civic spirit.
Following intense competition, Ethiopia's ABDULWOKIL won the men's full marathon title in 2:15:13. In the women's race, Ethiopia's FIKRTE claimed victory in 2:29:04, setting a new course record. Guizhou athlete Zheng Hong secured the men's half marathon title, while Sichuan runner Ma Xiuzhen won the women's event.
