Guiyang's Guanshanhu district is set to launch more than 200 summer activities during the 2026 "Cool Guiyang" summer tourism season, including concerts, sporting events, cultural experiences, and rural tourism activities.
Among the highlights are 19 large-scale performances, including concerts by Chinese singers Zhou Shen and Li Ronghao. More concerts and music festivals featuring well-known artists are also in the works, with organizers expecting to attract over 800,000 visitors. More than 20 roadside music events will also be staged at commercial streets and public spaces across the district.
The district will host a series of cultural activities, including open-air theatre performances, a Peking Opera festival, ethnic bonfire camping events, and water games, blending traditional culture with modern entertainment.
Making the most of its cool summer climate, Guanshanhu will also organize more than 50 sporting events, including the Guiyang International Marathon and the IFSC Climbing World Cup Guiyang.
The district also plans to hold themed activities around Baihua Lake and surrounding homestay neighborhoods. Visitors will be able to enjoy boat tours, hiking, tea plantation study trips, lakeside cafes, fruit picking, and folk activities such as potato roasting and traditional cooking competitions.
Urban cultural tourism will also be expanded through cooperation with museums and cultural institutions, offering exhibitions, traditional workshops, and activities focusing on food, coffee, craft beer, and creative products.
Officials said the district will continue improving transportation guidance, environmental management, volunteer services, market supervision, and tourism facilities to provide visitors with a safe, comfortable, and convenient summer travel experience.
