Guiyang's Guanshanhu district recorded a strong surge in tourism and consumption during the combined spring break and Qingming Festival holiday, with more than 1.8 million consumer visits logged – up 5.19 percent year-on-year.
Total spending during the holiday exceeded 1.2 billion yuan ($176.47 million), marking a 5.53 percent increase year-on-year. The number of overnight stays, including domestic and international travelers as well as short-term rental guests, surpassed 170,000, up 28.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
To boost holiday spending, the district organized 43 cultural and tourism activities, spanning family-friendly events, live performances, eco-leisure experiences, commercial promotions, and trendy attractions. Six flagship events anchored the program, creating a diverse consumption landscape.
The activities attracted a total of 876,100 visits, further enhancing the district's appeal and visitor engagement.
Sporting events also added momentum to the holiday economy. A match in the preliminary stage of the 2026 Chinese Football League 2 saw Guiyang's home team face off against Guangdong Mingtu, drawing enthusiastic crowds and creating a vibrant atmosphere.
