Guiyang's Guanshanhu district saw the growth of its performing arts sector highlighted by local companies taking part in the 2026 Performing Arts Economy Development Forum, a major part of the 20th Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Conference held on March 30.

At the forum, a representative of Guizhou Yachen Tianyi Culture Media Co, a leading Guanshanhu-based company, was invited to speak, presenting the district's progress in integrating performing arts with culture and tourism.

According to company chairman Liu Peng, the company hosted a series of large-scale concerts and music festivals in 2025, attracting over 600,000 attendees and generating more than 10 billion online views.

More than 70 percent of audiences came from outside Guizhou province, driving growth in local catering, accommodation, and retail sectors while fueling a rising trend of people traveling to Guizhou for performances.

To enhance the industry's competitiveness, Liu called for deeper integration of performing arts and tourism, including the development of signature cultural IPs, expansion of consumption chains, and stronger collaboration across the sector.

The event also saw two Guanshanhu companies secure partnerships with firms from Beijing and Guangxi, marking a new stage of collaboration with leading institutions nationwide.

Liu said the partnerships will help introduce advanced expertise and improve operational capacity, with plans to upgrade major events such as the Z Era Music Festival and bring more high-quality performances to the district.
