Guanshanhu lights up with promotions and parades for Spring Festival holiday

Guanshanhu district in Guiyang city has launched a series of Spring Festival activities featuring lantern displays, folk customs, shopping promotions, and rural tourism, creating a special holiday atmosphere for residents and visitors.

The highlight is the 2026 Guanshanhu Lantern Festival and Temple Fair, which opened on Feb 10 and will run through March 8.

It features 105 lantern installations across nine themed zones, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern lighting technology. Visitors can also enjoy daily stage performances, immersive interactions with nearly 100 live-action role-play performers, as well as scheduled fireworks and electronic sky lantern releases on select dates. More than 100 food and cultural vendors add to the festive spirit.

To boost holiday consumption, the district's commerce authorities have teamed up with over a dozen major shopping malls and commercial streets to launch more than 20 promotional campaigns, including discount coupons, price reductions, and prize draws. Many business districts have incorporated Year of the Horse elements into themed events and cultural performances.

Meanwhile, towns across the district are promoting rural-themed holiday activities. Jinhua and Zhuchang towns are offering intangible heritage experiences, local cuisine, and folk parades, while Baihua Lake town plans a cherry blossom-themed event in early March, combining flower viewing with cultural experiences and agricultural product fairs.
