Guanshanhu develops 'living-and-travel' model to revitalize rural areas

Guanshanhu district in Guiyang is advancing rural vitalization through a "living-and-travel" model that integrates tourism, culture, and agriculture around Baihua Lake.

Guided by the government and driven by market players, the district has developed lakeside homestays, farming experiences, and sightseeing programs, creating a new model of rural living.

Since 2024, Guanshanhu has been building a lakeside rural living demonstration belt across several villages, promoting light renovation of idle farmhouses and improving infrastructure and public services. Policy incentives and social investment have encouraged villagers to participate, generating jobs and rental income while preserving rural characteristics.

So far, the district is home to 83 rural lodging businesses with more than 800 rooms, turning rural living into a new growth engine that boosts incomes, strengthens village collectives, and supports integrated rural development.
