Guanshanhu district ranked first among all districts, counties, and county-level cities in Guiyang for overall air quality in 2025, according to the Guiyang air quality report for December and the full year.

Based on the comprehensive Air Quality Index (AQI), Guanshanhu recorded the city's lowest annual index at 2.38. It also led the city in fine particulate matter levels, with an average PM2.5 concentration of 17 micrograms per cubic meter.

The district ranked first in both AQI and PM2.5 concentrations for 12 consecutive months, with PM2.5 levels dropping to 10 mcg per cubic meter or below in five months, reaching an outstanding 7 mcg per cubic meter in July and August.

Despite unfavorable meteorological conditions and external pollution pressures, Guanshanhu adhered to a science-based, targeted, and law-driven approach to pollution control. The district strengthened forecasting and early warning systems, leveraged technological tools, and enhanced joint prevention and control, shifting air pollution management from reactive response to proactive intervention.

A closed-loop management system integrating monitoring, feedback, review, and rectification was established, combining drones, high-altitude surveillance, online monitoring, and portable detection technologies to ensure rapid identification and disposal of pollution sources.
