Guanshanhu district's Congbi Garden reopened on July 12 after a major upgrade, launching its first traditional opera event and offering visitors an immersive cultural experience.
As a classical Chinese garden, it is divided by the Bamian Creek into front and rear sections, connected by stone bridges, winding paths, rockeries, and pavilions.
The renovation preserved the garden's original structure and aesthetics while enhancing its role as a cultural space. The garden now integrates traditional craftsmanship with modern design, featuring a newly upgraded theater stage that uses layered landscaping to deliver an engaging experience, blending sightseeing, listening, and interaction.

As a highlight of the reopening, the "Essence of Chinese Opera" series brought Peking Opera's core elements – singing, reciting, acting, and martial arts – to life through interactive programs. Guests were also invited to discuss how classical Chinese culture continues to contribute to modern society.
"Visitors can sip tea, enjoy live opera, and feel the depth of traditional Chinese culture," said Feng Guanbo, head of the Guizhou Peking Opera Theatre.
