The relocation of Guanshanhu No 1 High School is now entering its final stage, with over 800 construction and management personnel working intensively to ensure the new campus is ready for use by Sept 1.
The new campus is located in Xiamai village, Yuntan sub-district. It covers approximately 225,700 square meters, with a total construction area of 141,600 sq m and an investment of around 1.69 billion yuan ($235.38 million).
It includes modern educational facilities such as teaching buildings, student dormitories, a library, a gymnasium, and a cafeteria. It also features comprehensive sports infrastructure, including a 400-meter standard track, a football training field, and basketball courts. The school is designed to accommodate 72 classes, providing seats for up to 3,600 students.
Once completed, Guanshanhu No 1 High School will fully relocate to the new site, expanding from 48 to 72 classes and adding 1,200 new student enrollment slots, significantly easing pressure on high school capacity in the area. The original campus will be repurposed for primary and junior secondary education, helping to optimize educational resources in the Shijicheng area.
