Since the beginning of this year, construction has been speeding up on the cultural expo center at the Guizhou Ethnic Culture Park, located in the Guanshanhu Modern Service Industry Pilot Zone.
Key infrastructure projects, including roads and support facilities, are underway, while investment attraction efforts are gaining momentum.
Significant progress has already been made in the integration of culture and tourism, notably through the flagship project – the Guiyang Memory of Hands Museum, which showcases the area's rich heritage and thriving cultural industries.
Located in Wengong village, Jinhua town, the center's main structure is progressing rapidly. Alongside, upgrades to the museum and supporting facilities such as craft studios, walkways, public restrooms, and forest trails are also in progress.
Once operational, the museum will serve as the first active demonstration point of the cultural expo center, driving the integration of cultural heritage, agriculture, and tourism.
The museum has made significant strides in reviving the local indigo dyeing and batik traditions.
The pilot zone is also planning to build a cultural workshop near the museum, covering 200 square meters of land and 594 sq m of building area. It is intended to serve as a space for cultural transmission, skill training, and creative experiences. Site leveling has been completed, and initial design plans are in place.
Looking ahead, the center aims to attract intangible cultural heritage inheritors, artists, and academic institutions, fostering new formats such as "creative homestays + cultural lectures", "rural tourism + ethnic festivals", and "mini museums + studios". This evolving cultural hub, centered around folk museum clusters, is set to become a vibrant destination for cultural exchange and artistic living.
Additionally, renowned architect Wang Ke plans to establish the Xinyingzao Art Museum at the site. Covering about 570 sq m, the facility will combine architectural art exhibits with high-end rural accommodation, further enriching the center's offerings.
