The second phase of construction on the Guanshanhu Eco-Civilization Exhibition Hall in Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is set to be completed in early June, further enhancing the exhibition hall's role as a hub for ecological education and public engagement.
Launched at the end of March, the upgrade aims to meet growing public interest in the environment and provide immersive nature experiences in the heart of the city.
The project focuses on creating a new ecological conservation zone, which will include a nature exploration garden, lakeside experience park, butterfly habitat, wetland bird sanctuary, and lake ecosystem area.
Interactive features such as science education boards, outdoor classrooms, floating islands, and birdwatching platforms will be added to enrich the visitor experience and expand environmental education offerings.

"Once completed, the hall's capacity for science outreach will be significantly improved, increasing awareness of the importance of ecological protection and helping people contribute to the building of an eco-friendly future," said Chen Nanji, an official of the Guanshanhu district environmental protection enforcement team.
The exhibition hall, which opened in June 2023, is Guizhou's first district-level eco-civilization education center. It has received numerous honors, including the "2023 Green and Low-Carbon Model Base" and recognition as a provincial science education site for schools. It also serves as a demonstration site for the Eco Forum Global Guiyang in both 2023 and 2025.
