Ethnic gala brings music and dancing to Guanshanhu Park

The 2025 Ethnic Gala Night of Song and Dance, a key cultural highlight of the Guizhou Grand Ethnic Unity Parade, was held from May 17 to 18 at Guanshanhu Park in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The event featured innovative stage design and immersive interactive elements, offering residents and tourists an unforgettable experience that combined rich ethnic traditions with enthusiastic public participation.

At the heart of the celebration was the "Harmony Circle" main stage, surrounded by a "Cultural Ring" of interactive zones and vibrant marketplaces. This layout encouraged attendees to engage with the diverse performances, activities, and cultural offerings.

One of the main attractions was the "K-Song Arena", where 36 amateur singers competed in a musical showdown. Audience votes determined the "Champion Singer," with winners receiving music prize packages worth between 5,000 yuan ($694.44) and 1,000 yuan.

Interactive segments proved especially popular: at the "Everyone Loves to Sing and Dance" area, professional dancers led the crowd in group dances and rhythm games, and in "The Band Performs," the audience selected live songs in real time.

Over 200 motorcycles roared through the park in a dazzling parade, complete with stunt shows and synchronized light and sound effects, igniting the energy of the night.

The grand finale was marked by a bonfire ceremony at 7:30 pm. More than 30 fire dancers took to the stage, their torches spinning in time with the music, sparks falling like shooting stars. The crowd counted down to the massive bonfire's ignition, as its flames cast a golden glow over their smiling faces.

The festive spirit continued outside the main square at a bustling marketplace filled with the aromas of local delicacies. Exhibitions also showcased mountain specialties and handcrafted ethnic goods, offering a rich blend of taste and tradition.
