Guanshanhu district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, celebrated a highly successful May Day holiday, welcoming a total of 753,800 tourists and generating tourism revenue of 463 million yuan ($63.42 million).
These figures represent year-on-year increases of 24 percent and 27.2 percent, respectively, the highest growth rates in the city.
Over the five-day holiday, the district hosted more than 100 cultural, commercial, sports, and tourism events, offering up a vibrant and memorable experience.
Highlights included the 5th Guiyang Traditional Chinese Style Game Festival and the 2025 Chinese Football League 2 sponsored by China Resources Beverage (Holdings) Company, which kept the festive atmosphere alive.
A standout moment of the holiday was the performance tour of the First Chinese Xinjiang Folk Art Season. The event brought together folk artists from Xinjiang and Guizhou, delivering a cultural feast that transcended regional and ethnic boundaries and added a unique charm to the district's celebrations.
