Since Guiyang launched its "zero-waste city" initiative, Guanshanhu district has been at the forefront, creating innovative "zero-waste communities" by promoting waste reduction at the source.

As a result, residential communities have seen continuous improvements in sanitation, while residents' environmental awareness has grown significantly, leading to both optimized waste management and a cleaner living environment.

In Bishui Yuntian residential community, for example, recycling spots display clear price lists for different types of recyclables. Rules such as the "seven no-collections" and "eight prohibitions" are prominently posted, and weighing equipment is readily available.

Hazardous waste stored at these points is collected by licensed companies, while recyclables are handled by Guizhou Xiaolyudai Environmental Technology Co.

To further encourage proper waste sorting, the property management, in partnership with Xiaolyudai company, frequently organizes onsite promotional activities. Residents can earn points for rewards: 50 points for correct waste disposal, 100 points for bringing in unwanted textiles, and 200 points for each hour of volunteer service.

Through these creative efforts, Guanshanhu is illuminating how the "zero-waste" philosophy can transform communities and foster a greener future.
