Guiyangbei Railway Station achieves seamless passenger transfers

Dec 26, 2014, marked the end of Guizhou's history without high-speed rail with the opening of Guiyangbei Railway Station and the Guiyang-Guangzhou High-speed Railway. Over the past decade, the station has seen increased passenger volume, becoming the busiest and largest railway station in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The Guanshanhu District High-speed Railway Economic Belt Service Center established a temporary coordination mechanism and a joint command and dispatch center at Guiyangbei Railway Station, creating an intelligent coordination system. Through this smart dispatch system, transportation units monitor real-time passenger flow data, using big data analysis to predict peak and off-peak times. This allows for precise flow management and resource allocation.

In October of this year, Guiyangbei Railway Station's taxi pick-up area was put into service. Seven additional vehicle lanes and two emergency parking lanes were added to the original three lanes, increasing capacity by about 150 percent. The area can now accommodate over 200 taxis, greatly improving passenger convenience and taxi operations.

Guiyang Public Transport Co has adjusted bus routes based on passenger demand, increasing the frequency of services on popular routes. Currently, 32 bus routes serve the railway station, and operation times are extended based on passenger arrivals.

Guiyang Urban Rail Transit Operation Co has integrated metro lines into Guiyangbei Railway Station, optimizing directional signage to provide convenient transfers and reduce passengers' walking distances and transfer time.

Jinyang Bus Terminal has set up additional service points at Guiyangbei Railway Station's West Square and the Tourism Distribution Center, adding over 80 intercity bus routes that connect with high-speed trains and ensure seamless coordination between road and rail transport.

Guiyangbei Railway Station has gradually developed an efficient transportation coordination system over the past decade, promoting the collaborative development of taxis, buses, metros, and rail services and solving passengers' "last-mile" problems.
