Jinhua town celebrates Chinese New Year with folk fair

From Jan 23 to 31, Wengjing village in Jinhua town, Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, will host a vibrant New Year folk fair. Highlights include dragon and lion dances, cultural performances, a village market, and traditional village feasts, creating a festive atmosphere.

On opening day, locals and performers will lead a parade to kick off the celebrations. The village market offers dried goods, local specialties, folk snacks, and cultural experiences, making it easy for visitors to shop for New Year essentials.

During the fair, Xijiang Legend Square will host activities such as glutinous rice cake pounding, Hanfu dress-up, wax-dyeing, couplet writing, and other experiences, both traditional and trendy. Visitors can also take free family photos at designated spots.

Sharing event videos on social media with the official hashtags gives participants a chance to be recognized as an "Honorary Wengjing Villager". As the Chinese New Year approaches, Jinhua town invites everyone to enjoy the festive atmosphere and the charm of traditional celebrations.
