Maoli village in Baihuahu town, Guanshanhu district, Guiyang held a celebration for the Liuyueliu traditional festival on July 11, the sixth day of the sixth month in the Chinese lunar calendar.

On the day, members of the Bouyei ethnic group dressed in traditional ethnic costumes as they sang Bouyei songs and warmly welcomed guests from afar and friends from surrounding villages.

Liuyueliu, known as "luz luz" in the Bouyei language, is a traditional cultural festival of the Bouyei people in which they celebrate the harvest and pray for good weather. It evolved out of a long history of rice farming activities.

It includes sacrificial rites, song, and dance, integrating production and cultural entertainment and embodying the cultural traditions of Bouyei.
