Modern seed industrial park to open in Guanshanhu

The Guizhou Guiyang (Guanshanhu) Modern Seed Industrial Park is set to open in Guanshanhu district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on July 7.

Covering an area of 65 mu (4.33 hectares) it is a comprehensive agricultural supply park integrating seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, veterinary drugs, and agricultural machinery.

Over 100 merchants have signed contracts to settle in the park, including two seed enterprises for major crops, more than 10 seed enterprises for non-major crops, and over 90 retailers of seeds, pesticides, and veterinary drugs.

The park will facilitate activities such as academicians and experts visiting Guiyang, as well as the timely release of information and research achievements in such areas as the cultivation of new varieties, local variety resource protection, core breeding technology research and development, and integrated breeding and multiplication.

With a focus on characteristic germplasm resources, the park will also provide services such as seed exhibitions and demonstrations, tracking and demonstration of new technology and products, and variety selection, building itself into a hub for displaying information about the seed industry.
