Guanshanhu promotes skills of talented workers with maiden exhibition

The first exhibition aimed at highlighting and promoting the skills and achievements of talented human resources in Guanshanhu district of Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was held on May 6.

Exhibition areas were set up to highlight their achievements. People could also register for the third Guiyang Jiaxiu Craftsman Competition, and enjoy a free presentation of local policies for vocational skills training.

Representatives of studios that foster talent were invited to share their growth history and experience in cultivating high-skilled talent.

The exhibition was held both online and offline, with online views reaching 76,000.

Visitors were also invited to vote online for the 18 skilled talent studios and companies participating in the exhibition, in a bid to decide the winners of three awards – one for the most popular studio, another for the most creative studio, and a third for the most beautiful work.

For many years, Guanshanhu has been strengthening its training and cultivation of skilled talent, an area in which it has achieved fruitful results.

In the last three years, Guanshanhu has built two national-level high-skilled talent training bases, four national-level skill master studios, seven provincial-level skill master studios, and one district-level skilled talent base.

The number of skilled talents in the district has increased from 64,524 to 79,010, the number of high-skilled personnel has grown from 21,058 to 26,606, and the proportion of high-skilled talent as a factor of the overall workforce has edged up from 32.63 percent to 33.67 percent.

Moving forwards, Guanshanhu will build a highly skilled and well-organized talent pool to provide a solid foundation for promoting the district's high-quality economic and social development.
