Guanshanhu stimulates new vitality of culture, tourism

This year, Guanshanhu district in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has made efforts to stimulate the high-quality development of its culture and tourism sector.

In mid-March, Haoguan village in Guanshanhu hosted the first flower-field concert combining the form of a music performance and a countryside trip. In addition to the two-day concert, visitors were also able to enjoy the flower, taste local dishes, and experience outdoor camping in the village.

Based on the strategy of "Meet Guanshanhu," the district has launched new tourism routes covering the spots such as the Guanshanhu Park, the Baihuahu Scenic Spot, the Guizhou Provincial Museum, and the Geological Museum of Guizhou to meet people's tourism needs.

In Changling North Road of Guanshanhu, a leisure block including the elements of tents, campfire, folk music, street dance, and coffee provides people with a new choice to relax.

Guanshanhu has made the full play of the block's popularity among youths and actively renovated and upgraded the neighboring streets featuring special catering, bars, and cafes to provide more abundant cultural products for citizens.

In the first quarter, the district received 2.53 million domestic visits, a year-on-year growth of 17.67 percent. That generated total tourism revenue of 2.89 billion yuan ($417.73 million), an increase of 22.42 percent year-on-year.

Moving forward, Guanshanhu will continue to focus on integrating culture and tourism to boost the sector's development.
