Guanshanhu district to take measures to improve people's well-being

Guanshanhu district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has vowed to take concrete measures in 10 areas to improve people's well-being.

At the district's "two sessions" in February, district authorities decided to take 10 measures to raise people's sense of fulfillment in sectors such as employment, compulsory education, healthcare, urban construction and living environment.

To promote employment and increase incomes, the district is committed to creating 13,000 new jobs.

In order to improve educational quality, the district pledged to allow all children of permanent residents to receive compulsory education as well as establish five primary and secondary schools which can house 2,250 students.

Regarding healthcare services, the district will improve childcare services, build 260 new childcare facilities, consolidate the foundation of grassroots medical care, and complete the transformation and upgrading of fever clinics in five medical institutions.

To improve transportation, the district will strive to build 3,000 new public parking lots and upgrade 30 kilometers of rural roads.

The district is also committed to building more elderly care and cultural and sports facilities, improving the living environment in the rural areas, and strengthening facilities for public security.
