Guanshanhu district accelerates social, economic development

The Guanshanhu district of Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is understood to be speeding up its new industrialization, new urbanization, agricultural modernization and commercialization of tourism.

In the first quarter of the year, it received 2 billion yuan ($297.21 million) in paid-up investment, signed 11 major projects, and attracted nine top companies to locate operations there.

This year, the district aims to top 21 billion yuan in gross domestic product or GDP, invest more than 4.5 billion yuan in industry and ensure that the total value of industrial output accounts for more than 7 percent of GDP.

In 2021-23, Guanshanhu is projected to construct 17 15-minute living circles, add 8,338 parking spots, renovate three farmers' markets and two supermarkets, as well as construct five new supermarkets.

The district will also continue to improve the living environment in rural areas. By the end of June, 60 percent of sewage in rural areas is expected to be collected and treated, 1,250 toilets in rural areas will be renovated and more than 80 percent of rural roads will have attained medium and excellent levels.

Since the start of the year, Guanshanhu has made plans to boost tourism development. In the first three months, the district saw 133 more business entities become involved in tourism.
