Guiyang North Railway Station – in the Guanshanhu district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has equipped itself with intelligent gates, in order to further prevent and control the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The gates can improve the passenger flow efficiency, check senior citizens who don't have smartphones and avoid cross-infection risks.

Passengers can scan their ID cards and go through the gates in two to three seconds, without taking off their masks. The gates can automatically identify each passenger's health codes and measure their body temperature.

The railway station cleans the gates with disinfectant wipes every half an hour and disinfects the area every two hours.

It also has a special passage for passengers who are confirmed COVID-19 cases, have had close contact with confirmed cases, or who come from high-risk areas at home and abroad.

These passengers arrive at a special service station for further inspection.

After the Guiyang urban express railway was opened to traffic on March 30, the station set up special work teams to check the tickets of transfer passengers, their health codes and body temperature.
