The Guanshanhu district of Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – recently launched a plan to boost the high-quality development of agricultural business owners.

Under it, in the current year, it will focus on grain, vegetables, fruit, tea, the forestry derived economy and traditional Chinese medical materials. Moreover, it will train 100 farmers with large-scale planting areas and provide training for five family farms, eight specialized farmers cooperatives and nine agricultural companies.

Projections are that by 2025, Guanshanhu will have 340 new-type agricultural business owners, whose business operations and services will have been significantly improved.

Under the plan, agricultural business owners will receive awards and subsidies according to the planting area of their vegetables. They will be evaluated and recognized as holders of award stars – or be recognized as district-level, municipal-level and provincial-level business owners – in order to receive financial support.

Guanshanhu will encourage the establishment of an agricultural social service organization. This will offer agricultural information on improved plant varieties, farm machinery, prevention and control of diseases and pest disasters – as well as advice on warehousing, logistics and marketing for agricultural business owners.

Furthermore, by improving talent policies, it is felt that Guanshanhu will also explore and develop current personnel, make plans for their evaluation and subsidies and train agriculture-related talent.
