The Guanshanhu district of Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – held a meeting on Oct 28 to organize arrangements for its new urbanization, new industrialization, garbage classifications and traffic management.

Luo Yang, secretary of the CPC Guanshanhu district committee, stressed that urban planning, urban carrying capacity and the urban economy should be improved, in order to promote the integrated development of the urban and rural areas.

He also indicated that the district would establish 15-minute community life circle pilots – to enable locals to enjoy public services such as farmer's markets, parking lots and sports facilities within a 15-minute walk from home.

In terms of garbage classifications, pilot communities in the district will join forces with owners' committees and property management companies to issue rules and regulations.

The district will distribute duty personnel to blocks with frequent traffic jams and optimize bus lines to manage and improve traffic congestion.

Focusing on the district's leading industry, it is understood that Guanshanhu will concentrate on establishing industrial parks and attracting new companies to locate operations there, in order to promote the development of new industrialization.
