No. 1 High School of Guiyang was the first demonstration high school and extra-large boarding school in Guizhou province. Its predecessor was the Guizhou Tongzhong Public High School, which was founded in 1906 by Li Duanfen, the Minister of Rituals in the late Qing Dynasty, and Ren Kecheng.

Located in Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, it covers an area of 465.47 mu and has a science and art building, a concert hall, a gymnasium, and a library.
