Guanshanhu district innovates online platform to aid graduates' job hunt

The launching ceremony for "Guizhou Professional Talents", an online employment platform, was recently held in Guiyang. According to local officials, its purpose is to provide more job opportunities for graduates during the COVID-19 epidemic.

The platform, which was jointly developed by the human resources and social security bureau of Guanshanhu district, Mingde College of Guizhou University and a Guizhou-based big data company, has been innovated to meet market demand in situations where more traditional public employment service models have been affected by the epidemic.

Making use of internet technology, the platform can monitor the talent demand and employment trends of enterprises in Guanshanhu district to increase the accuracy of applicants' job hunting. It provides services including online interviews, online contract signing, employment guidance and talent selection.

Officials said that the platform is a new attempt for the bureau to establish effective communications between the government, schools and enterprises. The bureau will make maximum use of its resources to build an employment "alliance", gathering schools and enterprises together to help college graduates find suitable jobs according to their employment needs.

"The platform will provide an increasing number of job opportunities for college graduates. It not only broadens the employment channels, but will also bring more talents to the district," said Wang Yinghua, dean of the Mingde College of Guizhou University. According to Wang, there are 2,580 graduates from Mingde college this year.

The launching ceremony was broadcast live and online viewers exceeded 100,000.
