Guanshanhu district improves medical services

Guanshanhu district in Guiyang has made a concerted effort to improve the region's medical services, in a move officials said will also boost people's confidence in the excellence of their medical treatment.

Jinyang Hospital, a large-scale comprehensive 3A hospital in the district, has sent 12 experts in general medicine to four health clinics to train township doctors and improve the level of medical treatment.

The district health bureau has also spent more than 3.5 million yuan ($500,000) on the construction of medical facilities and equipment, as well as recruiting and training medical staff.

In order to improve the popularization and convenience of the public medical and health services, the district pushed forward with the construction of a remote diagnosis and treatment services system and accelerated the exchange and sharing of medical and health information. 

Officials said that to date, four township medical clinics and three community health service centers have realized full coverage of remote diagnosis and treatment services. More than 90 percent of the primary medical institutions in the district now support electronic payment methods like WeChat Pay and Alipay.

In addition, the district invested 953,000 yuan to promote a family doctor project, offering free health management services such as physical examinations and health guidance for residents aged 65 and above.

According to statistics from the health service center of Jinhua Park community, a total of 7,538 residents have signed electronic contracts with family doctors to access convenient medical services. 

So far, nearly 42,000 senior residents have engaged in the family doctor project, with a signing rate of more than 44 percent.
