Profile of the Healthcare Sector in Guanshanhu

Local healthcare industries are primarily focused on medicare, nursing, health, management, tourism and dieting. They have made an integrated development with big data, ecological preservation, tourism and poverty alleviation, and strived to better meet the needs of the public.

Over 150 firms are involved in healthcare services in the district. Their revenue surpassed 12 billion yuan ($ 1.7 billion) in 2018.

The district has brought in a number of projects connected to smart medicine, telemedicine, and Internet plus Medicine, intensifying its assistance in the development of advanced medicare programs. Its work is part of a drive to better embrace the health economy, silver economy, and mothers’ economy.

The district boasts over 200 medical institutions with about 1,500 beds and 2,000 employees. Its centers for new mothers and healthcare service have already been put into operation.

Meanwhile, Jinzhu Hospital affiliated to Guizhou Provincial People’s Hospital, Guizhou Women and Children’s Hospital, Guangshuanhu Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Guanshanhu Emergency Medical Center, and Healthcare Complex are all under construction.

Guanshanhu Elderly Nursing Services Center, which is already in use, is Guizhou’s first medical institute featuring the integration of governmental investment and private management along with nursing and medical care.

Wongjing Regionalized Nursing Services Center for the Elderly and the Community-based Nursing for the Elderly & Mothers and Infants’ Care program are also now in operation.

There are six private nursing centers for the elderly with over 1,000 beds. About 500 people live there. 

In addition, Zhengde Gene Biological Science Institute, Beike (Guiyang) Life Science Center, Life Pyramid, Real Bio Big Data Center, Weishundayuan Health Checks Management Center, and Meinian Health Management Center have all gone into service. The number of local health management firms has reached 15.

The district has nurtured an industrial chain of health management featuring big data, life science, genetic testing and molecular biology, putting its life-cycle healthcare industry on a path to full maturity.
